It’s about time I cut the crap out of my life.
For what seems like as long as I can remember I have struggled with my weight. You see I would say my biggest problem is definitely snacking. I try to eat healthy meals, the majority of the time, but I let myself down with my snacking. I just can’t seem to help myself. When I’m bored I snack, when I’m sad I snack, when I have achieved something I reward myself with a snack. My relationship with food is so unhealthy it’s ridiculous.
I just can’t get myself to a healthy weight and stay there. For a while I decided I just had to deal with the fact that I was always going to be bigger, that’s rubbish. Why accept it? I know I can do something about it. It’s going to take hard work but I have decided now is the time to cut the crap.
I really don’t believe in diets, or depriving yourself of anything. It just doesn’t work, not for me anyway. I have tried so many diets and as soon as I tell myself I’m not allowed something I crave it. I really think diets are only ever a short term solution. I just need to figure out how this healthy balanced thing works.
It might take me a while but I am definitely trying to take a step in the right direction at least. That first step is to swap out my snacks. I’m not saying I will never have a packet of crisps again but as much as possible if I really feel the need to snack I am going to choose a healthy option.
Obviously fruit is always a good choice of snack, however it does get a bit boring and often ends up sitting until it goes off, so I have picked up some snacks that make it a bit more exciting, and cost me less in wasted food.
I’ve got some some freeze dried, some air dried, and god knows what else dried fruit and veg. I freaking love the Nothing But. snacks, especially the pineapple and grape ones…soooo yummy.
I’m obsessed with coconut snacks and the salted caramel ones are amazing.

Ok I may have gone overboard with the Pana Chocolate, but it will be rationed I promise. At least its not as bad as normal chocolate though. Honestly this is the best raw chocolate I have tried. It is a little bit pricey but I promise it is worth it.
I have to say, when I think about it, I have discovered a lot of these healthy snacks through Sourced Box, so if you are looking for something new to try definitely check them out.
So today has been my first day of trying to stick to my new healthy balanced diet and so far so good. The first few days are always the easiest though aren’t they? I haven’t actually had all that many snacks at all and the ones that I have had have been healthy ones so yey me! One day down, rest of my life to go 🙂
